Who we are

Hey Proofy is operated by Nexova Group Limited, registered in New Zealand. You can reach us at support@heyproofy.com.

Using Hey Proofy

Hey Proofy helps you keep receipts, track warranties and remember bills and renewals. You can create an account with your email and a password, or with Continue with Google. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure.

Who can use Hey Proofy

You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live, or to have a parent or guardian accept these terms on your behalf. Household members you invite must accept them too.

Plans and payment

Hey Proofy has a free plan and one optional paid plan, Hey Proofy Plus. Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST (15%), and one price covers the whole household, up to 6 people.

  • Free - up to 10 receipts, warranty reminders and recall alerts. No card is needed.
  • Hey Proofy Plus - NZ$14.99 a year at the founding rate, locked in for as long as you stay, for households who join by 31 March 2027. After that the rate is NZ$29.99 a year.

Payment is handled by Stripe. You can cancel a paid plan at any time from Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period, and you keep access until then. We email a reminder 30 days before any annual charge. The free features you already use stay free.

  • If we change a price, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
  • Paid plans are billed yearly in advance. We don't refund part-years, except where the Consumer Guarantees Act or other law requires it.

Refer a mate

When somebody you invite as a mate joins, you each get 3 months added to your plan, with no limit on how many mates you invite. Somebody you add to your own household is not a referral, so no months are earned for them. We may withdraw months that were earned by pretending to be somebody else, by inviting addresses you do not control, or by any other misuse of the offer.

Using Hey Proofy fairly

Please do not:

  • upload or forward anything you do not have the right to keep, or anyone else's records without their permission;
  • use Hey Proofy for anything unlawful;
  • share a receipt link with anyone who should not see it, or post one in public;
  • try to break, overload, or reach parts of Hey Proofy you have not been given access to;
  • copy, resell or scrape Hey Proofy, or use it to build a competing product.

If you keep records for a household, you confirm you have your household members' agreement to keep their receipts here.

Your content

Your receipts and documents belong to you. We store them so we can show them back to you, read the details off them, and remind you about the dates you are tracking. We do not use them for anything else, and we never sell them. You can export or delete them at any time, and what the rest of your household can see follows your own sharing settings.

Inviting people

You can invite people into your household, invite a mate, or accept an invitation to a country that is still invite-only. Only invite people you know, and only after they have agreed to it. An invitation is an offer rather than a membership: it is accepted only by the person signed in on that exact address, and it can be declined, revoked or left to run out. You can remove a member at any time, and removing them ends their access to the household's records immediately. An invitation-only country is covered by the availability section below, and access there can end when that country's opening period does.

How Hey Proofy reads your documents

AI reads the words, amounts and line items off the documents you add. Reading is all it does: what is kept, shared or deleted follows your own choices and settings. It can make mistakes, so check anything important against the original document, which is always kept alongside the record. Anything you correct by hand is kept as yours: a later reading never overwrites your correction.

Asking Proofy a question

Ask answers from your own records and from general information, in plain words. It can be incomplete or wrong, and it is a helpful answer rather than a decision about your money, your rights or your safety, so check anything that matters against the original document or the official source it points to.

Reminders

We work hard to get reminders right, but a missed reminder can happen. Please do not rely on Hey Proofy as your only reminder for something with a hard deadline, such as an insurance renewal.

Safety recalls

When something you have bought is recalled, Hey Proofy shows you the official notice and links straight to it. Our alerts point at that notice; they are never our own safety advice. We match on the brand, product name and model numbers we hold, so a match is a prompt to check rather than a decision about your item, and where the details only partly agree we say so. If a recall may affect something you own, follow the government or supplier notice for what to do.

Amounts, tax and conversion

Amounts are shown in your country's currency. Where we show what a foreign amount comes to in your currency, or what a tax figure works out to, that is an estimate for convenience: the amount printed on the document is the one that counts. Pictures of products shown in the app, and any picture we make from a product's name, are illustrative rather than a photograph of the exact item you bought.

Availability and changes

Hey Proofy is available in the countries shown on our home page, and we are adding more. A country may open by invitation first while we finish its local details. We may improve or change features, and we may need to pause the service briefly for maintenance. If a change meaningfully reduces what you get for free, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.

Apps from a store

The Hey Proofy app for Android is offered through Google Play. Installing it that way is also subject to that store's own terms, and the store's operator, not us, handles the download.

Changes to these terms and our privacy notice

Both carry a version and the date they take effect, and we review them every fortnight. When something meaningful changes, we email every household a short summary of what changed with a link to read it. Continuing to use Hey Proofy after a change means you accept the updated terms. Whatever changes, the rights your own consumer law gives you carry on applying.

Limits on our responsibility

Hey Proofy is a record-keeping tool. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by something outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under consumer law in your own country, which apply in addition to these terms.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, and we will remove your records. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms - if we do, and it is reasonable to, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your records first.

Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country.

Shop names and logos

Shop names and logos belong to their owners. We show them only to point to where something was bought, and Hey Proofy is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of the shops it mentions.

Privacy

What we keep, who can see it and how long we keep it is set out in our Privacy policy.
